Chancellor Palpatine is given emergency dictatorial powers by the Galactic Senate to build an army to fight the Republic's enemies. Before these powers were established, he could not legally do so. This army will eventually be used to wipe out the Jedi.

Settler's government system was based off whomever was chosen by the Engliish Governement. The individual had total power and determined the culture and future of the colony.

Anakin and Padme are having a picnic when they start discussing systems of government. Anakin thinks that occasionally, politicians should be made to agree, whereas Padme values democracy above progress.

Trevor meets with the principal, who tells him about an cafeteria incident in which his daughter, Annie, put cake on another student's face after he was bullying her. The principal states that Annie will be suspended if she acts aggressively again. Trevor defends Annie and states that she's been bullied by the same student constantly and that no one from the school has helped handle the situation. He concludes the meeting by saying they'll take the matter into their own hands.

Annie confronts a bully who wants to beat up Sean again. She succeeds in stopping him, and in turn, hopes that being nice to Sean will prevent him from bullying her further.
