Jin talks to Yi to console her after her violin breaks. The violin was a symbol of her father and meant everything to her. Yi admits to Jin that she hasn't gotten over her father and that her family is distant. Jin reframes her statement about the family and questions whether Yi is actually the one who is distant.

Yi was considering giving up and was doubting herself until the group came across a stream with coy fish. Yi noticed that the coy fish were swimming upstream, against the current, and used that as a metaphor for her struggles. She considered them a symbol of perseverance and became more determined to continue the journey to get Everest home.

Moana's father brings her to the top of the mountain to tell her about how she would someday also add a stone to the pile. The stones symbolize the leaders and previous chiefs of the island.

Jackie, Matt, and Inez brainstorm how to build a ramp to get up the steep cliff to the island. They create a design for the ramp such that it can be easily transported and will serve the purpose of getting them to the island.
