The Balkans has been an ethnically diverse region in Europe. It served as border fo Western, Eastern, and Islamic worlds. Its Long history consists of many independent kingdoms as well as even more empires attempting to conquer the region. The Byzantines, Ottomans, and Austrians all took thier shot at the region.
