Chris transforms into a sloth to understand how it can hang for so long. The group's impression of sloths is that their lives are relaxing. While in his transformation, however, he is taken away by a harpy eagle and cannot avoid it because of the slow speed at which he is able to move. Chris briefly describes that sloths and harpy eagles have a predator-prey relationship.
The narrator describes how the physical features of the kangaroo rat allow it to survive for a short amount of time in the intense dryness and heat in Arizona. Afterwards, the kangaroo rat seeks shelter underground to protect itself from the harsh environmental conditions.
Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa are relaxing one night and looking up at the stars. Pumbaa asks if any of them have ever wondered about the stars, and Timon affirmatively states that they're fireflies that got stuck up there. Pumbaa mentions that he always thought starts were giant balls of burning gas. Simba thinks that the stars were once great kings that now look down over them.
The team creates a model of the virus causing an epidemic to better understand how it behaves and affects human cells. The novel virus changes continually, so it is difficult for them to create a vaccine.
