The teacher states that the Debate team is only for 5th graders and that Evan is too young. As their argument continues, the teacher turns it into a teachable moment by telling his students the aspects of debate that are occurring in the moment.

    I used this hook when introducing how to write arguments. It was a perfect hook. I don't watch this show but apparently it's trending on tik tok, so many were familiar with it. It was fun, sharp, concise, and compelling. It added a lot to my rather dry, but essential, lesson.
