Sam explains how she used to be a nerd and now tries to hide that side of her. Flint convinces her to embrace who she really is.

After finding out his mom's complicated past, Steven is left overwhelmed and confused, but never really addresses it. Amethyst tries to help Stven talk about his feelings, but she unknowingly has unresolved emotions as well.

Zarm, a spirit of war and conquest that was once the spirit of Earth tempts the planeteers with power and pits them against each other. Matee's "heart" power breaks him free of Zarm's control, allowing him to eventually save the planeteer's from Zarm's corruption. The planeteers realize that an iron fish ethos will do more harm than good, even if done with good intentions and summon Captain Planet to send Zarm back to his world.

Trevor meets with the principal, who tells him about an cafeteria incident in which his daughter, Annie, put cake on another student's face after he was bullying her. The principal states that Annie will be suspended if she acts aggressively again. Trevor defends Annie and states that she's been bullied by the same student constantly and that no one from the school has helped handle the situation. He concludes the meeting by saying they'll take the matter into their own hands.

Annie confronts a bully who wants to beat up Sean again. She succeeds in stopping him, and in turn, hopes that being nice to Sean will prevent him from bullying her further.
