Robert Kearns and his wife Phyllis meet with the distinguished attorney Mr. Lawson to discuss their case against Ford Motor Company. Robert claims that Ford stole his invention and is taking Ford to court. Mr. Lawson tells Robert that Ford offered him $250,000 to settle the case, but they will not recognize Robert's invention if he accepts the offer. Robert has to make a decision as to how to proceed.
