Missy Franklin is an Olympic swimmer. Her height and long limbs allow her to maximize thrust and overcome drag, two important elements in moving fast through water.
Beakman challenge: drink punch out of a glass with two straws: one inside the glass and the other outside. The straw outside of the glass causes the air pressure inside the mouth to match the outside of the mouth. Now you don't have the ability to get the liquid to move into the mouth due to the air pressure change since it's the same.

Beakman explains how airplanes fly due to the shape of the wings. He demos this by having two toy airplanes (one with wings and one without) to show that the wings are required. To demonstrate air pressure and imbalance, he holds a piece of paper and blows over it to show that the paper will lift to correct for the imbalance in air pressure. Beakman uses an animated clip to explain how the shape of the airplane wing causes this air pressure imbalance and creates lift.
Cole's coach, Harry, talks to him about the importance of tires in a race. He states that they won't be able to finish a race with the way that Cole drives because he'll run down his tires too quickly. Harry suggests a deal with Cole: run 50 laps any way he likes, then run the laps Harry's way, and finally check the tires to see which tires experienced more damage. After the two runs, the tires with Harry's way of driving are in significantly better condition.
