Beakman (as Galileo) does an experiment where he drops an eggplant and a piece of paper at the same time to see which lands first. The first go around, air resistance causes the paper to float down. He then wads it up and tries again to show they will fall at the same rate to the ground.
Newton presents his findings on gravity to a group of scientists. Among the attendees are Sir Robert Hooke. During his explanation of the inverse-square law, Newton notices that Hooke appears to be stealing his work, so he abruptly ends his presentation.
The crew is trying to reach the shuttle that already landed on the asteroid. While traveling to it, the crew members come across a giant ravine in the asteroid and have no way to cross it. Since there is less gravity on the asteroid, they try to jump over the ravine. They successfully jump over it, and their trajectory leads them away from the asteroid, but they manage to turn the engines back on in time to return to the asteroid.
