The American Continental Army begins a siege against the British in Yorktown, Virginia. General Cornwallis finally surrenders after many days of resistance when the Continental Army closes in on them.
Peabody and Sherman visit America near the end of the Revolutionary War. They find out that Cornwallis cannot surrender because he lost his sword, so they help him find it. This is a comical take on the events that transpired on October 19, 1781, when British General Charles Cornwallis formally surrendered 8,000 British soldiers and seamen to a French and American force at Yorktown, Virginia. Cornwallis' surrender brought the American Revolution to a close.
Continental Army Officers discuss the dire situation of the Revolution. They plan to keep General Cornwallis in the south to prevent him from taking over Washington until the promised French reinforcements arrive in six months, at the earliest. The French reinforcements are vowed for by a French Officer.
Patrick Henry gives his famous "Give me liberty, or give me death" speech in which he advocates for the colonies to become independent of the British empire through war. He claims that the colonists had tried everything to prevent war up to this point and that war is the only option left unless they want to be subjects of Great Britain and stripped of their liberties.
The colonists, including Major General Joseph Warren, fight the British at Bunker Hill. This clip depicts the first of three attacks on the Hill. While the British won the battle, they suffered great losses.
