A fire investigator and a fireman are at the scene of an incident involving fire. The investigator explains how the backdraft likely occurred and starts a fire to illustrate to the fireman how a fire starts and spreads. He states that fire is a living thing, as it breathes and eats, and suggests that fire needs to be respected if you want to beat it.

Beakman explains how gas is explosive and causes the combustion engine in the car to work. He uses a model engine with a side view and demonstrates what is happening with the gasoline when it explodes to move the engine parts. Beakman shows how the engine allows the wheels to turn by relating it to riding a bike. Up and down motion of the pedals is converted to turning the wheels through the chain. Same in the car with the pistons turning gears and thus the wheels.
Although science has not fully explained the origins of life, this clip describes how basic chemistry gave rise to living organisms.
