Pai joins the boys when they enter the school to learn about their ancestors and becoming chieftan. Her grandfather who runs it is not please with her attendance because she is a girl this school is only for boys.

Afterwards, they sing a song in which they share their experience living under Mao's leadership. The song is laced with strong communist ideals, demonstrating the influence that the regime had on the people of China.
