Virgil enters the classroom late, when he notices a student, Jimmy, using a laptop. Nick Connor enters the classroom and torments Jimmy throughout the class by messing with his laptop and personal belongings. Virgil wonders why the teacher hasn't done anything about the bullying. Virgil also mentions why it was hard for him to speak up and how he wishes he did.
