Sophie discusses fear and explains its purpose: to keep us alive. She illustrates what happens to our bodies when we're scared and mentions the different ways in which fear can be evoked. She then talks about the flight or flight response and references Charles Darwin's "Flinch" experiment that he conducted on himself.
When Todd comes back to the game, he is greeted with hate fear and ignorance as the crowd doesn't want him to play in the game for fear of him transmitting AIDS to the people near him. Captain Planet and Todd Andrew's coach fight the stigma behind AIDS and HIV, trying to rally support for Todd and dispell the hate and ignorance that people have of the disease by explaining how it is transmitted and fighting the uninformed notions people have.
