  • Cyberchase: Riding the Gears

While attempting to fly into Tick-Tockia, the CyberSquad hits one of the gears off a giant cuckoo clock. They need to fix it in order to be able to enter Tick-Tockia. They learn how the gears work by observing smaller gears; they discover that the teeth mesh together to create movement. Using this knowledge, they fix the clock and make it to Tick-Tockia just in time.

  • Cyberchase: Fixing The Train

The CyberSquad needs to fix the train in order to get up the mountain. They manage to get it moving by putting in a missing gear; however, it travels too slowly. They note that gears of different sizes turn at different speeds and that a gear with a high number of teeth will make the train move fast when paired with a gear with few teeth. They swap out a couple of gears and get the train moving at a fast rate.

  • DuckTales (1987): Multiphonic Duplicator

    Has profanity
When Hewey, Dewey, and Louie Duck witness Gyro Gearloose's new invention, the Multiphonic Duplicator, they use it to duplicate their money. When Scrooge McDuck learns of the invention, he cautions his nephews not to spend the duplicated money or else they'll decrease the value of the currency. Inflation is further illustrated when the price of goods and services, such as lollipops and bus rides, increases astonomically.

  • Beakman's World: How Cars Move

Beakman explains how gas is explosive and causes the combustion engine in the car to work. He uses a model engine with a side view and demonstrates what is happening with the gasoline when it explodes to move the engine parts. Beakman shows how the engine allows the wheels to turn by relating it to riding a bike. Up and down motion of the pedals is converted to turning the wheels through the chain. Same in the car with the pistons turning gears and thus the wheels.
